Many of us grew up loving and being bewitched by all the Harry Potter books, with people still growing up to enjoy them, but where is the next big series to take over like Harry Potter did for today's current generation of readers?

The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling is indeed a cultural phenomenon that has captivated multiple generations of readers. Finding the next big series to have a similar impact on today's generation of readers can be challenging, as it depends on various factors, including the uniqueness of the storytelling, relatable characters, and the author's ability to create a rich and engaging world. That said, there are some series and authors that have gained popularity and are seen as strong contenders to become the next "big thing" in literature:

1. Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan: Rick Riordan's series, starting with "Percy Jackson & the Olympians," has been highly popular, and it continues to expand with new series like "The Trials of Apollo" and "The Heroes of Olympus." Riordan's blend of mythology, humor, and relatable teenage protagonists has made his books a hit with readers of all ages.

2. The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins: Suzanne Collins' dystopian series, which began with "The Hunger Games," became a sensation in young adult literature and has been adapted into successful movies. It explored themes of survival and social injustice and resonated with a broad audience.

3. Divergent Trilogy by Veronica Roth: Another popular dystopian series, the "Divergent" trilogy, has appealed to young adult readers. It delves into themes of identity, choice, and conformity in a post-apocalyptic society.

4. The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare: Cassandra Clare's urban fantasy series, starting with "City of Bones," has found a dedicated fan base, offering a blend of magic, romance, and supernatural creatures.

5. A Court of Thorns and Roses Series by Sarah J. Maas: Sarah J. Maas is known for her young adult fantasy series, with "A Court of Thorns and Roses" being one of her popular works. Her books often feature strong heroines and complex world-building.

6. The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini: Although this series has been around for a while, Christopher Paolini's epic fantasy series, which began with Eragon, continues to attract new readers with its dragon-centric world and rich storytelling.

7. The Giver Quartet by Lois Lowry: Lois Lowry's classic dystopian series has maintained its relevance, addressing themes of memory, emotion, and societal control.

Well, there is the "Crave" series by Tracy Wolff. It has been described as Harry Potter meets Twilight but I think that this series may be more for teens than children though......

Demon_Skeith Demon_Skeith They do have a little bit of a following.....just now on the same level as Harry Potter. Universal Studios has bought the movies rights for this series though, from what I've heard.
